It starts with where it will stand

A room at home or in the basement, a garden or a terrace, a hotel room or a spa floor. A custom sauna is designed from the conditions on site: the dimensions, the ceiling height, the way in for delivery and the power supply. Rather than fitting your space to a standard size, we fit the sauna to your space.

What we decide together

How far you take the details is up to you. Where you're unsure, we'll suggest options based on how you plan to use the sauna.

Size and layout

How many people it seats, the number and direction of the bench tiers, and where the door goes.

Wood and finish

The timber and tone inside and out, chosen to suit the site and the atmosphere you want.

Heater

Electric or wood-fired. We suggest a heater from the HUUM range we supply that suits the room's volume.

Windows, doors and glass

Where the openings go and how large they are, from a window onto the view to a glass door.

Lighting and benches

Light where you want it, such as soft strips under the benches or behind the backrest.

Interior walls

Add pattern and texture to the walls with DecNord sauna wall panels.

Saunature works in Estonia, Japan and Spain, and our team has trained in Estonia and visited factories there. We bring that experience to each project and work closely with our partner factory to build your design.

01How much does a custom sauna cost?

Custom saunas have no fixed price. Size, timber, heater and site all change the cost considerably, so we quote each project individually once the specification is settled. Start by sending us your requirements through the enquiry form.

02Where are the saunas built?

At our partner factory in Estonia, to the design agreed with you.

03How long does it take?

It depends on the design, the factory's schedule and where the sauna is going. We'll give you an expected timeline with your quote. If you have a date in mind, mention it in your first enquiry.

04Can a custom sauna go outdoors?

Indoor and outdoor sites can both be considered. For an outdoor sauna we'll also discuss the foundation, weather protection and access for delivery.

05What should I prepare before I enquire?

Photos of the site, rough measurements, how many people will use it, the power supply available and your preferred timing all help. It's fine if some of this isn't decided yet.

06Can I choose the heater?

Yes, electric or wood-fired. We'll suggest a HUUM heater from our range that suits the room's size and how you'll use it.

07Can I see a sauna in person?

Our showroom in Karuizawa, Japan, displays sauna cabins and HUUM heaters, and sauna sessions are available by reservation. It's a useful reference for materials and scale when you plan a custom build.
